The inspiration for this survey came from several conversations about ambiguous grief, its origins, its timeline, and ultimately the roadmap to healing. Our 25 question survey was available for 1 month and received nearly 400 individual, anonymous responses.
We reviewed the data and complied our findings to understand:
Who had taken the survey
What they understood about ambiguous grief
Why they were experiencing ambiguous grief
Where they were turning (if at all) to get support
When their grief was onset, and how long had it lasted
How they were coping with their grief.
We invite you to review our findings and share our work. It is our hope that the more widely discussed and understood this is, the more support we can offer those suffering in ambiguous grief, and the sooner they can begin to heal from their painful loss.
We invite you to share your own story of ambiguous grief.
(You can do so anonymously and we won’t share without your permission)
