Dr. Sophia D. Caudle is a Licensed Professional Counselor and
Supervisor and Certified Sex Addiction Therapist and Supervisor.
Dr. Caudle is both owner and Clinical Director at Bull City
Psychotherapy in Durham and Wilmington, NC, specializing in sex
and love addiction, attachment and intimacy issues, mood disorders,
and personality disorders for adults and adolescents, offering
individual, couples, group therapy, and sex addiction intensives.
With over 20 years experience as a practicing psychotherapist, and
as a graduate of both North Carolina Central University with a double-
Masters in Community and School Counseling as well as North
Carolina State University with a Doctorate in Counselor Education
and School Administration, Dr. Caudle strives to provide each client
with his/her own individual treatment, utilizing cognitive-based,
dialectic behavioral therapy, with both a reality-based and
mindfulness emphasis. Her areas of expertise are
depression/anxiety, bipolar, narcissism, sex and love addiction,
codependency, internet pornography, intimacy issues, gaming
addiction, trauma, grief/loss, anger management, problem solving
skills, among many others.
Currently, Dr. Caudle is conducting research regarding Ambiguous Grief (Caudle & Sarazin, 2018), in sex and love addiction with addicts, with partners, and with couples. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S), National Board Certified Counselor (NBCC), EMDR Certified Therapist, EFT Trained Therapist, North Carolina Licensed School Counselor, National Board Certified Teacher. Dr. Caudle is a member of the North Carolina Board of Licensed Professional Counselors, American Counseling Association, North Carolina Counseling Association, North Carolina School Counselor Association, American Psychotherapy Association, and Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Honor Society.
